De la Fuente, born April 21, 1969 in New Hartford, New York, was the second of three siblings born to Filipino immigrant parents. Having grown up in Evanston, Illinois, de la Fuente attended and graduated from the North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois, in 1987.
Four years later, in 1991, he graduated of Brown University’s BA Theatre Arts program. By 1994, he had completed his MFA degree from NYU’s graduate acting program at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Despite having a relatively short television and film acting career under his belt, de la Fuente has managed to accumulate an impressive number of acting credits, some of which have clearly elevated his star ranking considerably.
Even though, in productions such as “ER,” “The Greatest,” “Rescue Me,” “Julia” and “Hemlock Grove,” New Hartford born actor played variations of doctors, de la Fuente’s portrayal of Inspector Kido in the Amazon Prime series “The Man in the High Castle” has proven the actor is just as capable playing police officers as he is playing characters in a medical field.
De la Fuente has acquired a wealth of talent which he brings to play in every production he works on.
Although he does not fully know whether Kido is one of the good guys, the depth of character which de la Fuente instils in each performance is nothing short of spectacular. Kido is therefore not a two dimensional character.
In addition to appearing in serval television productions, the actor also appeared in films such as “Personal Velocity” (2002), “Return to Paradise” (1998) and “Roommates” (1995).
