Christopher Coppola

Are you familiar with either the 1988 horror thriller “Dracula’s Widow” or the 2017 drama “Sacred Blood”? If you know of these productions, there is a good chance you would be aware of the film director, producer and actor Christopher Coppola.

Coppola, born in Los Angeles County, California on Thursday, 25. Jan. 1962, has been involved with directing films since 1988.

Coppola, the brother of actors Marc Coppola and Nicolas Cage, is the son of the late literature professor August Coppola and dance choreographer Joy Vogelsang.

If you were wondering if Coppola bore any family relation to Francis Ford Coppola, he does.

On his father’s side of the family, the Coppola which is being written about here is the nephew of the famous director. Of course, that makes him the cousin of fellow director Sofia Coppola.

Coppola, known to have studied music composition at the University of Redlands for at least one year, earned a bachelor of science in film cinema video studies in 1985 from the San Francisco Art Institute.

During the past three decades, Coppola has sat in the directorial chair for ten feature films, a 1995 episode of “America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back,” episodes of the family fantasy comedy “Bone Chillers,” the 1998 made-for-television movie “Clockmaker” and episodes of “100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd.” Further to the television and film production the director has been involved with bringing to life, in 2017, Coppola was also responsible for directing the video game “Universe at Play.”

In addition to his directorial work, Coppola has been known to have stepped in front of the camera. Beginning with the 1994 George Kuchar video short, “The Cage of Nicholas,” the director has acted in five productions.

Filming on the soon-to-be-released Rocky Capella directed drama “Don’t Shoot! I’m the Guitar Man” came to an end. In this production, Coppola played Tony Carboni. Currently filming, Coppola appears in the Mark Christensen directed “Smoothie’s” as Bishop.

Coppola is currently sitting in the directorial chair for the music film “Paradise Found.” While IMDb has this production listed for a 2018 release, there is no indication of an exact date it will be made available to moviegoing audiences.
