If you recall, no one was eliminated in the previous episode. Everyone advanced to the next stage of the competition. Consequently, everyone went to the Bahamas.

The quickfire challenge in this first Bahamas episode is no walk in the park.

In the quickfire challenge, the remaining chefs had to face off against the Top Chef winner from their respective season: seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7.

  • Season 4 (Veal): Stephanie Izard vs. Antonia and Richard
  • Season 5 (Lamb): Hosea Rosenberg vs. Carla
  • Season 6 (Duck): Michael Voltaggio vs. Mike
  • Season 7 (Pork): Kevin Sbraga vs. Tiffany

While Stephanie beat Antonia, the season four “Top Chef” winner could not defeat Richard. Unfortunately for Carla, she was unable to defeat her season’s winner. Both Mike and Tiffany were successful in defeating Michael and Kevin, respectively. Subsequently, Stephanie, Richard, Hosea, Mike and Tiffany each won $10,000. Stephanie, going up against two competitors from her season, was eligible to win up to $20,000.

With limited cooking equipment, in this elimination challenge, the chefs are required to create meals for the King of Junkanoo.

Unfortunately for Carla (fried pork medallion with sweet potato purée, apple sauce & apple chip), she was unsuccessful in moving on to the next stage of the competition.
