Do you remember this episode? There was only nine cheftestants left in the competition.

For a first time in the season, in the quickfire challenger, the chefs had to create a dish which would be judged solely on presentation. Even though the judges were not basing their opinions on taste, the creations had to have a visual appeal the judges liked.

The chefs were surprised taste would not play a role in the judging.

The winning chef, with a reputation for creating visually appealing dishes, was Richard. He crafted a black chocolate ice cream, menthol crystals, herbal salad and mint ice cream dots.

In this nail biting eighth season episode, the elimination challenge required the chefs to cook a family-style meal at Rao’s for the restaurant’s owners and staff. Divided into three teams of three, the chef teams were named: Antipasti, Primi, and Secondi.

Even though the chefs worked in teams, each of them were judged individually on their dishes.

Whilst the winning chef was unquestionably Antonia (mussels with fennel, white wine, garlic & parsley ciabatta), the eliminated chef was Tre (grilled vegetable risotto, marinated tomatoes & fresh basil.
