Frank Castle / The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, is back. The first season, a 13-episode run, premiered on Netflix 17 November 2017.

With “The Punisher” now available to watch on Netflix, the streaming service has six Marvel based shows. Based on the Marvel comics character of the same name, the Netflix web television series was created by Steve Lightfoot. Set in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), “The Punisher” is a spin-off of “Daredevil.” If you recall, in the second season of “Daredevil,” Castle / The Punisher was a reoccurring character.

In addition to Bernthal, “The Punisher” also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson.

Having already appeared in Daredevil and The Defenders, journalist Karen Page (Woll) is one of several characters that ties the Netflix Marvel productions together in to a single universe.

While Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) has appeared in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the team-up mini-series The Defenders, it is interesting there is no sign of the nurse in this sixth Marvel based show.
