Are you ready for the second instalment? Hopefully, you will be. You don’t have much time. The film hits movie theatre screens Friday, 5 May 2017. We are getting to see the Guardians save the galaxy for a second time. How cool is that?

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” the much-anticipated sequel to the popular 2014 Marvel Cinematic Universe feature “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, this second film revolves around the Guardians travel throughout the cosmos as they help Peter Quill learn more about his true parentage.

The gang is all here. The Gunn directed film sees the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, and Karen Gillan in their original roles.

The Guardians: a half-human half-Celestial being who was abducted from Earth as a child and raised by a group of alien thieves, an orphan from an alien world who seeks redemption for her past crimes, a highly skilled warrior in search for vengeance against Thanos for his family’s slaughter, a genetically engineered raccoon-based bounty hunter, and a seriously angry tree-like humanoid. With a team like this… What could possibly go wrong?

Joining the cast is Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, and Kurt Russell.

Be under no illusion this second instalment is the end of the story for the Guardians as we know them. A sequel, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” is scheduled to enter production with James Gunn returning to write and direct the film. But before the Guardians save the galaxy for a third time, they will of course be teaming up with the Avengers in the 2018 film “Avengers: Infinity War.”
